Labour Panic, Reform Chaos & The Funniest Review Comic Leila Navabi Ever Received

Show notes

Labour looks like it’s eating itself alive, Reform councillors are combusting in real time, the manosphere is getting dismantled by Louis Theroux with the energy of a disappointed supply teacher — and somewhere in the middle of the collapse, Leila Navabi joins Outcast World with the genuinely incredible story of how making a baby with her friend as a sperm donor somehow became a full-blown musical.

Yes. Really.

Graeme opens this week’s episode by wading into the increasingly bizarre state of British politics: Keir Starmer’s apparent slow-motion leadership death spiral, Wes Streeting’s endlessly rehearsed Westminster energy, rumours of Andy Burnham positioning himself as Labour’s northern saviour, and the growing sense that Reform UK’s rise could eventually force Britain into electoral reform whether the establishment likes it or not.

There’s also the small matter of Reform councillors dropping like flies under public scrutiny — including allegations surrounding extremist online content and another candidate exposed over explicit gay OnlyFans material involving sex in public places. Different allegations, different levels of seriousness, same recurring problem: a party obsessed with presenting itself as the guardian of “traditional values” repeatedly finding itself consumed by scandal.

And then there’s HS Ticky Tocky and the collapsing manosphere ecosystem, following Louis Theroux’s documentary and the increasingly surreal online fallout around Grindr, burner accounts, fake alpha masculinity and influencer culture built almost entirely on performance and contradiction.

Then Leila Navabi arrives and the entire show takes a gloriously chaotic turn.

The comedian, broadcaster and writer discusses the DIY IVF journey with her friend that inspired her musical, the absurd realities of queer parenting logistics, and one of the funniest theatre reviews imaginable after falling over on stage during a performance — with Time Out delivering a line about it so brutal it’s become legendary in her own personal history.

There’s also a very direct message from Leila to gay people supporting Reform UK, alongside a wider conversation about identity, community, culture-war politics and why some queer people appear determined to align themselves with movements that fundamentally do not like them very much.

Smart, filthy, political and properly funny.

This is Outcast World.

00:00:00: Mondays.

00:00:00: Outcast World, hello it's Graeme Smith.

00:00:02: Later on in todays episode we're going to be talking the comedian and writer and broadcaster Leila Navarbi.

00:00:09: she is one that told us if you are ever in need of a syringe from boots just tell them you've got big dog.

00:00:15: How do I get a syringer around good boots?

00:00:17: Tell him he has a big dog.

00:00:18: eat medicine too.

00:00:18: they will give you one amazing

00:00:20: On Today's Episode.

00:00:21: Like most gay men apparently go about reforming

00:00:23: have not heard this.

00:00:24: Yeah, I've seen them.

00:00:26: It's kind of mad.

00:00:29: but what are you

00:00:30: doing?

00:00:31: Girl

00:00:32: they don't care about you.

00:00:33: They're never going to love you.

00:00:36: When Faraj says jump Labour might say how high.

00:00:40: And it is not

00:00:41: true, its offering people false hope.

00:00:45: Fating apps have become a breeding ground for the worst of human behaviours.

00:01:05: But first,

00:01:05: what the fuck is happening with British politics?

00:01:07: Yes.

00:01:08: The world is on fire and... ..the Labour Party that thought it could navigate its way through this has discovered.. ..that it can't.

00:01:17: Right now, Labour feels like a government are kind of entering its post-mortem phase.

00:01:22: Kier Starmer!

00:01:23: Doesn't feel like a very long-term Prime Minister at the moment, does he?

00:01:26: He feels like The Janitor that the boss is about to empty out the side door.

00:01:30: And circling around this spectacle of The Janiter who's forgotten what day it is.

00:01:35: you've got Wes Streeton Who absolutely thought This was gonna be Wes Streetings year...the Year Of The Streeting.

00:01:41: So whatever your opinions About Wes Streetin' Mine aren't great.

00:01:44: I mean What gay man Is rude about trans people and then decides to be elected in a centre-left party.

00:01:50: Don't understand that!

00:01:51: The thing about West Street Inn, the thing I know about it is... ...the more visible West Street In becomes.. ..the more people seem to just dislike him.

00:01:59: It's not case of.

00:02:00: people need to see more of you.

00:02:02: Actually people have probably better off not seeing you at all.

00:02:06: Every media appearance feels kind of focus-grouped to with an inch if it's lifelike.

00:02:10: Do you remember when he went on tell other members supposedly briefly against Gere Stammer that they shouldn't and should stop watching whatever it was about the celebrity traitors, did ya see?

00:02:19: And then had this same line used in every TV show in the same morning.

00:02:33: Did

00:02:46: you

00:02:54: think no one would connect the dots and it wouldn't look really fucking cringe?

00:02:59: Every media experience, this super-hyper focused is going to lead a point where people think that person isn't particularly real.

00:03:07: I went back to my old secondary school last week And one of my teachers helpfully reminded me That in his first lesson as teacher at the School I said i'd need good grades To go to university so I could be Prime Minister.

00:03:17: Politically Streeting has managed to position himself into one of the worst places imaginable.

00:03:23: Repeatedly escalating anti-trans rhetoric such as puberty blockers for trans teenagers.

00:03:30: now, The results of the removal of these and closing down on a lot of NHS medical pathways for trans youth have been major increase in suicides of trans people.

00:03:40: yet the Department For Health under West Streeting has hidden this.

00:03:44: so repeatedly escalate an anti-Trans rhetoric whilst claiming to be sensible Sounds like a politician trying to distance himself in a lot of ways from the consequences Of his own language over the course of the last couple years.

00:03:56: Meanwhile, Andy Burnham is back and it's difficult To find out what Andy Burnam thinks about a lot things.

00:04:02: at The moment he's hovering About light the northern final boss of politics He says this year to save the Labour Party sounds Like when Chris Moyles went to radio one.

00:04:11: so if Burnham wins them make you feel That's an area where reform surged to nearly fifty percent.

00:04:17: Now that is quite a mountain to overcome, isn't it?

00:04:20: If he can win there... ...that is suddenly very important.

00:04:23: so make-a-feel by elections are going do two things.

00:04:26: It's gonna test whether or not reform could be beaten and potentially put on new leader in charge of the Labour Party.

00:04:32: Its absolutely pivotal.

00:04:34: The line put out for everyone in Make-A-Feel days Vote Labour!

00:04:37: Get rid of Starmer which is bizarre but seems like way things go.

00:04:41: If Burnham can punctuate, Farage is really weird and it IS weird.

00:04:45: Why does this exist?

00:04:47: His hold over the northern working classmen has got absolutely nothing in common with them.

00:04:50: I'm talking about Farage here.

00:04:52: Labour immediately has a route back into conversation

00:04:55: And there's already

00:04:56: rumours swelling that elements of The Greens would rather work with Burnham than watch reform grow unchecked.

00:05:03: Guardian readers you'll have seen this.

00:05:05: They've been hinting at various columns.

00:05:07: There are some columnists versions of this for ages, progressive alliances electoral reform tactical pressure proportional representation.

00:05:14: all of a sudden it's back on the table and I'm hearing that no one in The Green Party said this to me.

00:05:21: but more from what i've been reading.

00:05:24: The Greens might not put someone against Burnham in Makerfield in order to allow him into Parliament so he could get proportional representation.

00:05:32: if they do will burn him, stick to his word or will he shaft them?

00:05:37: With proportional representation the Labour Party would never govern on its own ever again.

00:05:43: Because once reform starts breaking in a traditional system everybody starts realising that the traditional system is pretty fucked as it stands.

00:05:51: and speaking of reform erm...the counsellors?

00:05:53: they are dropping like flies.

00:05:54: I know a few green counsellor's dropped out but there were for things was teacher-in-the-borrow can't have two jobs.

00:06:00: In reforms case, there's a load of different reasons including one facing allegations of social media posts that are allegedly sympathetic to Nazi imagery and rhetoric.

00:06:10: There appears to be receipts though.

00:06:11: Here is what happened when he was sort-of stopped And asked very basic question by ITV News.

00:06:17: It's just that you have been accused of being a Nazi sympathiser.

00:06:34: So, you deny it then?

00:06:36: It

00:06:36: is like watching David Brenton in the office with Nazi allegations hanging over him and again.

00:06:43: what I will say about this reminds me if the man has feel at the moment when he comes to these young men they collapse like a flan in a cupboard.

00:06:52: Another one of them has ended up, this is a lot less serious and we don't like to slut-shame on the show but it's interesting that LBC have exposed another councillor in the North West for operating gay porn.

00:07:05: only fans account involving public sex content.

00:07:09: And when you're standing for a party then one of your MPs wants to return Britain not until the nineteen fifties.

00:07:15: before that Look there are various degrees allegations and seriousness there, obviously.

00:07:21: Politically it is a pattern though isn't it?

00:07:22: It's the party that constantly markets itself as like...the last line of moral common sense while simultaneously attracting candidates who are collapsing under a cursory Google of scrutiny!

00:07:33: Like I thought you sorted out your process by which sort-of were selecting

00:07:38: candidates?!

00:07:39: What has gone

00:07:40: on!?

00:07:40: Have even had a Zoom call!

00:07:44: On the subject of The Manusphere, a bit before we get into the chat with Leila Navarbe.

00:07:49: Hs Tiki Toki unraveling.

00:07:50: that was fun!

00:07:51: That seems to be thing this week.

00:07:52: Young Men With Big Egos Unraveling.

00:07:55: So HS Tikki Toki kind of unravels under basic journalistic questioning and it's honestly been extraordinary to watch like Louis Theroux barely even raised his voice.

00:08:06: And suddenly, the entire alpha male... This is on the Manisphere documentary.

00:08:10: The entire Alpha Male performance started looking year-eleven media studies project held together with a bit of protein powder and a burner phone.

00:08:17: The whole

00:08:18: manosphere ecosystem, mentioning no names in this particular point just feels fundamentally fraudulent, like aggression masquerading as ideology until your mum offers you a fruit shoot.

00:08:30: It's fucking stupid!

00:08:32: Like it's dominance rituals performed for lonely young men online and then you get to the grinder stuff...like these guys are obsessed with Grindr.

00:08:40: HS Tiki Toki is quite obsessed with grindr..it featured in the Louis Theroux documentary didn't they?

00:08:46: I don't know if you've seen where.

00:08:48: they lord a gay man to a meeting in public, claimed he was a predator based on evidence we were never given.

00:08:55: On the basis of wanting to meet a man and his twenties.

00:09:00: Lord into situation then beat him up onto live stream took the livestream down disseminated clips used as content.

00:09:07: it's genuinely fucking grim!

00:09:09: And now there is the HS Tiki Toki Pisa camera or whatever... what is this?

00:09:13: Livestream where he has got Grindr on his phone.

00:09:20: Now, maybe it means something.

00:09:21: Maybe doesn't...maybe its business?

00:09:22: Maybe its personal?

00:09:23: Maybe is none of our business who knows?

00:09:25: but when your entire public persona revolves around sort-of like hyper masculinity police and sexuality And in one case beating up a gay man for going on to meet off grinder The internet's gonna start noticing the connections quickly.

00:09:37: I love how on this clip he goes.

00:09:39: little girls have been on.

00:09:40: They're all girls by

00:09:41: way.

00:09:42: I saw that clip go viral as well.

00:09:43: Of me opening up fucking Grindr On This Phone.

00:09:47: i got sent It By Many Many Girls.

00:09:50: Fucking weird.

00:09:51: The excuses were even madder like he could have said.

00:09:54: you've seen the Louis Theroux doc.

00:09:55: I've used it for content boom and a story.

00:09:57: We've seen their receipt, but he doesn't because put under the basic bit of scrutiny He falls apart any sorts got our well And he pursues some sort of vendetta.

00:10:06: Some person used to work for me.

00:10:08: It's an old phone A business phone.

00:10:10: what still logged into?

00:10:11: let me clarify that clip right now.

00:10:13: This

00:10:14: is a workphone.

00:10:15: this phone was actually used by Okay,

00:10:18: I don't know.

00:10:21: I'm not gonna say anything but this was his personal phone while he worked with the company.

00:10:28: He has now left a company.

00:10:29: we've left on good terms and he is now stripping in platinum lace-in mayfair.

00:10:34: okay If you want to go see him and talk to them?

00:10:36: He's in Platinum lace strip club in Mayfair earning one two thousand dollars a night.

00:10:41: But i'm going leave it right there.

00:10:42: ok!

00:10:42: I Don't use This Phone.

00:10:44: So any material on this phone does not belong to me, Harrison Sullivan.

00:10:47: Someone else's account?

00:10:48: It is him that downloaded Grindr.

00:10:50: Anyway he doesn't work for now.

00:10:51: He dances for two thousand dollars a night In Mayfair.

00:10:56: Again a Kezary Google Reveals That Not Single Man Dancers There.

00:11:00: So it's fucking bullshit!

00:11:03: It's nonsense.

00:11:04: Everythings content.

00:11:05: You know there everything has outrage Everything his performance Until I bit of scrutiny lands On them.

00:11:09: And then Mummy Kind Of A Fruit Chew.

00:11:12: I don't want a fruit chew.

00:11:13: Anyway, before civilization fully collapses.

00:11:16: Here is my chat with the stand-up comic absolute fucking legend Layla Navarbe on her DIY Pregnancy.

00:11:26: that sounded it's good.

00:11:28: watch this queer politics sex and culture The show everyone loves it like for force.

00:11:37: let me do four stars almost everywhere.

00:11:40: Don't ask for more details, other than three from Time Out... Sorry.

00:11:43: Three From Time Out but four stars everywhere.

00:11:45: The Guardian loved it.

00:11:46: Do you know that review?

00:11:47: Time out can fuck off!

00:11:48: That time-out review is so funny because It goes to the red... I don' t have any relatives.

00:11:51: Sweetly

00:11:52: ramshackle as well.

00:11:52: i've got from

00:11:53: it.

00:11:53: Yeah..I fell over in the first bit of the show.

00:11:58: Oh my god, it was the first show for reviewers.

00:12:02: We had a few reviews like thankfully everyone else who came to that show gave it four and spared the details when we were falling over.

00:12:07: but I think it's Andrei Lukowski whose work i actually really liked as an critic...I find this stuff really insightful.

00:12:12: It is a really lovely review.

00:12:14: But he said Layla did fallover and hurt herself quite badly..and it almost comical ..and just very distracting when she fell over.

00:12:22: She hadn't fallen over.

00:12:24: I'm

00:12:25: like baby girl.

00:12:30: You're relaxed,

00:12:34: it's fine!

00:12:34: She did fall over guys.

00:12:38: He really hated when i fell over.

00:12:40: poor fuck he wanted me to not fall.

00:12:42: It was funny.

00:12:43: the review is funny because i can't believe falling over cost me a blooming star.

00:12:48: Bloody

00:12:49: Star right?

00:12:50: I've got plenty of other stars from the public.

00:12:55: I'm in the Guardian, they're pretty good writers.

00:12:57: They bloody

00:12:58: love it as well don't we?

00:12:59: And if The Guardian loves it... ...I am a classic and that sounds ridiculous isn' t it?

00:13:03: Annoying myself!

00:13:04: So i m a Classic Guardian.

00:13:05: Easter If The Guardian said It.. I m like.

00:13:08: yeah, love The Guardian.

00:13:10: Time Out Sounds Like A Biscuit.

00:13:11: Sounds Like Cheap Biscuits from Dane's.

00:13:13: but take your break.

00:13:14: Do you like a time out

00:13:14: biscuit?

00:13:15: Do these still

00:13:16: exist?!

00:13:17: They

00:13:17: wear a biscuit weren''t they?

00:13:18: time-out?

00:13:19: But do they have two fingers?

00:13:21: Something awful.

00:13:22: Timeout is

00:13:23: so funny to me, time out!

00:13:25: I was on... So this another fun little gem about time-outs can't wait for this to come out like I could hear everyone i know and would be like don't talk about it.

00:13:32: you shouldn' t talk about that stuff but the first shed in my show which actually got a very crazy reception was talking five stars from that one and Phoebe Wallabridge coming into the show.

00:13:46: all of these crazy things Yeah.

00:13:50: My debut show went down a treat, I was very lucky.

00:13:54: Time Out came and oh my god she hated it!

00:13:57: It's different review of this time but She'd interviewed me couple weeks prior And i was on the front of Time Out that week being like The new comics to look out for.

00:14:08: then This person had done an interview with Me.

00:14:10: Then She Came To The Show Gave Me A Hug Afterwards Horrid room.

00:14:14: It's like,

00:14:16: it's like psychology behind that.

00:14:18: you know she was like Laila is trying to talk about.

00:14:20: I didn't understand it and annoying and kept talking political things.

00:14:24: And I'm right.

00:14:26: Yeah say that what i was gonna do.

00:14:27: um it's very.

00:14:28: that moves also funny.

00:14:29: so a timeout time out.

00:14:30: have a sword in history with.

00:14:33: They took very hot pictures of me, which I'm grateful for.

00:14:36: I look great in the timeout cover shoots!

00:14:38: Little did i know... So what matters

00:14:40: is who's going to read the details?

00:14:42: It's

00:14:42: how you look on that front cover.

00:14:44: it all anyone's gonna remember.

00:14:45: so im saying.

00:14:48: Well now Im about to like diggin' it up but its

00:14:52: fine.

00:14:54: One day one day time out will give a good review and and I will, it would be the best day of my life.

00:15:01: And do you know

00:15:01: what?

00:15:02: I don't associate with shit biscuits.

00:15:04: Biscuits... no more shit biscuits!

00:15:07: I like a timer.

00:15:08: at least this is what that time has to change.

00:15:10: they used have a bit chocolate in the middle remember like a flaky type thing.

00:15:13: yeah dude they

00:15:14: had an extra layer of extra bit didn't we?

00:15:17: Yeah They got rid of that

00:15:19: and then the chocolate tasted but i dunno.

00:15:22: And it didn't taste like the full.

00:15:24: It's all papery, wasn't?

00:15:25: Yeah

00:15:25: is one of them ones that says chocolate flavoured and not chocolate unless

00:15:29: the technicality

00:15:29: because its just made like margarine.

00:15:33: Don't sue us whoever... Margarine and gravel

00:15:35: apparently thats what they're made off.

00:15:37: by the way I love margarines actually

00:15:39: Not such a big fan.

00:15:42: Good to know.

00:15:43: I want to pick up a couple of, before we wrap what?

00:15:45: A couple bits from you past.

00:15:46: It's nothing bad it's just like.

00:15:47: i'd like to work out little bits around.

00:15:49: A few bit!

00:15:50: Few final questions so you

00:15:51: can't hang up.

00:15:52: Someone at the school would have said that you were a bitch.

00:15:54: They're

00:15:55: on the line now.

00:15:59: You are outed as a teenager weren't ya?

00:16:01: and you left Cardiff.

00:16:03: Now thats not a minor thing That is a rupture.

00:16:09: How much of everything you make is still in conversation with that?

00:16:12: I feel for that.

00:16:14: I'm from Liverpool, left Liverpool move back to Liverpool later on and there's a funny relationship with you.

00:16:19: have yeah And don't live then now but like when you go back to where your hometown just for a bit

00:16:24: It's...I

00:16:25: think it so complex more interested in hearing the angle.

00:16:27: But tell me about that.

00:16:29: not mine thing as kind of defining things isn'it?

00:16:31: No,

00:16:31: it's definitely a defining thing.

00:16:33: I think for me the craziest things being Cardiff has become like a queer epicenter now which is crazy because growing up here did not feel like that.

00:16:43: i used to go to like artsy cafes and try and like queers but they used to call it.

00:16:46: just see other gay people.

00:16:48: in real life cause was not aware of any gay people there at all.

00:17:01: You know, like when you're a kid and seeing New York in all the films.

00:17:04: I knew that New York exists but how could i ever have a thrudge if that's something i've been there?

00:17:09: That's why i felt about gay people.

00:17:10: basically it was like this concept exist!

00:17:13: But How do I Know It's

00:17:13: Real?!

00:17:14: I'd never seen a game...you know obviously i had seen gay people.

00:17:17: they just weren't out And still maintain that to this day.

00:17:20: So we think for people who went to school with us to come out or haven't come out

00:17:22: Some people are like ages, don't they?

00:17:23: Like come

00:17:24: on fucking out.

00:17:25: I think we had a really tricky time with it.

00:17:27: you know... It wasn't acceptable!

00:17:29: We're not talking about... I'm only twenty-six years old and that was long ago You know.. People

00:17:34: don't get it sometimes But i am forty two right.

00:17:36: And so when I was at school That's what happened to me.

00:17:42: I can't even begin to fathom how it is now.

00:17:44: I feel as if it got better or worse for kids because of the internet.

00:17:48: How are you outed?

00:17:52: and what were the impacts on

00:17:54: that?

00:17:55: That was, it was tricky.

00:17:56: So basically I was seeing someone but a boy And i was like...I have to end this because i'm not into it!

00:18:03: And i think its becuase I'm gay.

00:18:06: then he sort of just told them..and they're just horrible just awful vibes wasn't good.

00:18:11: Having said all that It's probably one of best things ever happened to me Because....i don't know if i would've had come at some point But i was so.

00:18:22: Yeah, I think so and they just like allow me to.

00:18:25: the world didn't end.

00:18:26: But it wasn't great.

00:18:27: It did have a great time following it but... ...I'm here now on.

00:18:31: everyone ended up finding The End is how i feel about it And So I am not grateful that happened in That way would've liked you being able To be in control more of my own narrative.

00:18:44: You know this was one Of those things.

00:18:49: And now I love and on Backing Hardest, like absolutely love it here.

00:18:52: It's just the best...it's based off a different place!

00:18:55: It looks crazy but everything has changed.

00:19:00: The atmosphere is completely different.

00:19:03: Now i'm on tour going around all of UK longing to be back in Hardest.

00:19:12: There was a survey.

00:19:13: there were two places where they said There's a huge queer community, percentage-wise.

00:19:19: And I was so surprised like Cardiff is right at the top and I think Lincoln was as well.

00:19:24: Yeah, Lincoln's quite...I've never been to Lincoln!

00:19:26: But it's kind of like Brexit-y gay?

00:19:30: I see, Cardiff's not like Brexit.

00:19:33: No,

00:19:33: Cardif is and I wouldn't say Cardiff was but I think Lincoln by definition breaks it a gate.

00:19:38: from what i've heard you know?

00:19:40: It's such specific breed isn't it?

00:19:42: Like the Brexit gays...

00:19:43: Well these gays that vote reform!

00:19:45: Most gay men are currently going to vote reform if they're not heard about this.

00:19:49: Yeah oh babe i've seen them yeah yeah yeah i mean its kind of mad right now.

00:19:53: What Are You

00:19:53: Doing?!

00:19:55: Girl This Is Not.

00:19:56: They don't care about you, they're never gonna love you.

00:19:58: Well

00:19:59: what do think draws them to it?

00:20:00: like queer people look and its gay man a lot of the time isn't there?

00:20:04: I think

00:20:06: yeah.

00:20:06: i think It's A longing To fit in still with whatever The norm is to be considered normal.

00:20:14: And so You know if you go into those spaces and say well I feel fine when i'm in these spaces because of course you can present in a certain way that people are fine with it.

00:20:24: But then the parties like that aren't fine with me really, they don't... You and your husband are going to be married if reform get in good luck so that won't exist anymore.

00:20:34: That's gone baby!

00:20:36: And just want to shake this people up Because thats not what its about.

00:20:39: it is my immigration.

00:20:40: If you're also myopic but only focus on your own personal circumstances What affects YOU directly?

00:20:46: Just be aware that you will be affected by This.

00:20:49: you will be affected your relationship.

00:20:51: Your the acceptability of you in those spaces.

00:20:53: they They will put you down as fast they pick your up darling.

00:20:57: Is that how I feel to these people?

00:20:59: That's

00:21:00: the number one political choice for gay men in the UK apparently, is what i thought because im very green now but Reformed!

00:21:06: We're not just talking about... So where are we live?

00:21:11: there would be a huge surprise if you were queer and voted Reformed And i guess kind of like your friends as well.

00:21:17: But um.. Apparently In a survey of Gay Men The Number One Political Option was in line with the general population, it's reform and that has been going through my head so much.

00:21:27: I think there is also an element of that to thinking you are doing some sort...I really don't hate people who think Reformers The Answer.

00:21:35: No one

00:21:35: would like

00:21:37: them!

00:21:37: I feel completely gutted for them because this idea they have got billions to sell this idea of anarchy, you're overthrowing.

00:21:55: This is the alternative option and I'm almost glad that The Green Party have become so vocal because they are going no-no-no... That's not what it is!

00:22:05: You aren't doing... It isn't placards or revolution, reform is not a revolution.

00:22:10: Reform is the state.

00:22:12: make no question about that.

00:22:13: i could get political very easily but i just think there big fat line that there shouldn't be crossed.

00:22:25: And I think like, just do some research but having said that you know gay people.

00:22:30: we've all over come something and so for me to say it's stupid You're gonna get the defence!

00:22:39: We are defences because we have to be defences of people which is why i want my arms around these people.

00:22:44: go listen...we are the same..I know your looking at me thinking were not But we are, and the things that affect you are affecting me.

00:22:53: We need to rise against that but it's not this!

00:22:57: This is like the bad... It was Machiavellian Disney villain thing I've ever seen as Reformed coming in their big suits into all these villages.

00:23:06: Coffillie down the road from Me, y'know?

00:23:08: Yeah there were a by-elect there wasn't they?

00:23:10: Now Reformed didn't win though.

00:23:11: did he come second?

00:23:12: then

00:23:13: they?

00:23:13: No played Cumbery once thank goodness for that.

00:23:16: And then they got an indent, like seeing all of that and just seeing them waltzing there.

00:23:21: I'm just like how can you not recognize it?

00:23:23: It'll get if we don't watch Disney tell him in your life these people are the villains.

00:23:26: so obviously the villains.

00:23:29: Just be aware

00:23:31: to see Gorton and Denton though, wasn't it?

00:23:34: We're

00:23:35: big

00:23:35: fans of Zak Polanski on this show.

00:23:36: I can say one my proudest moments was when we did a TikTok clip on us going about reforming laughing at them being idiots And Zak Polancki re-TikTok'd or whatever they call him.

00:23:48: He's like...I'm gonna be happy person now.

00:23:51: This is my biggest flex.

00:23:54: Christmas-ish last year, I went to go and follow Zach Platsky on Instagram.

00:23:58: And he was already following me!

00:24:01: That's a real moment.

00:24:02: we're back when you had whatever it was, ninety thousand followers.

00:24:05: He followed him and now he is king of the world...I'm big fan of him..I think his good person our question politicians and their integrity, and the truth.

00:24:18: And I think that's right.

00:24:19: we shouldn't worry about politicians.

00:24:21: of course We should...and i think The thing That makes me like Zach Polanski is he someone who says Absolutely!

00:24:26: We Should Question Politicians and Worry About Politicians because they are making decisions.

00:24:30: So yeah..I mean I'm Yeah He's....I really really rate Zach Polancki.

00:24:35: You know my position is tricky because I am in Wales so our political landscape Is slightly different.

00:24:41: but you know, I just...I really despair about reform but i do hope that people are waking up to what they're doing which is wearing.

00:24:51: literally might as well walk into like villages wearing comic glasses with a mustache and big nose.

00:24:57: We are the good, we're just like you!

00:25:01: They might as well do that because it's what they're doing in everywhere.

00:25:03: Is this working?

00:25:04: I don't

00:25:06: know how much longer will work for them but people are realising... We've

00:25:10: got three more years haven't

00:25:11: we?!

00:25:11: Like i dont think their going to still be peaking in three year thing is close enough.

00:25:15: I hope so yeah.

00:25:16: I mean i hope not Yeah..I don't think so.

00:25:19: It's a challenge But everything we have known about politics has changed.

00:25:22: now like that is very much true, the two-parking system.

00:25:25: It's a

00:25:25: nine-party

00:25:26: system!

00:25:27: Yeah exactly.

00:25:28: so we don't know what's gonna happen.

00:25:30: I think all we have to do is be vocal about these things and demand honesty in our news on social media which is very difficult when it's being run by billionaires who clearly have no regard for truth and facts.

00:25:52: Sticky scary times.

00:25:54: Yeah, it's scary.

00:25:55: I'm struggling to find a positive narrative or anything except for the performance of The Greens.

00:26:00: so i'm just like oh please!

00:26:02: Everything from beginning to end.

00:26:04: and then I feel like Zach Polanski as a Jewish gay man is perfectly positioned to comment on So many things that some other people are locked out of Israel incredibly.

00:26:13: And he's so into platforming other people... ...and you know what?

00:26:17: A party thats literally being run by a woman, a gay man and a Muslim.

00:26:23: And a gay Jewish man like I add is very best well placed to reach the right people in this country Right now.

00:26:33: The People that are being disillusioned... ...and the people Rahul were trying pick up where their evil claw of nastiness You know?

00:26:42: And i think you could cut..i think only thing stronger than hate Is love!

00:26:47: Exactly!

00:26:47: Reading with that can't go too wrong.

00:26:51: They're the only people offering any kind of real hope and we haven't seen that in a long time.

00:26:54: And I just hope it works out.

00:26:56: i want to take you back To um The show.

00:26:58: Um,

00:27:00: and

00:27:01: baby?

00:27:02: And if the baby in this story grows up and watches the show What do you hope That they take from it?

00:27:11: is there anything that you're a bit kind of nervous about?

00:27:15: No.

00:27:15: I wish, a nervousess should be like oh my god mum you're so cringe and glitter on your face in your stupid makeup dancing around.

00:27:23: that's embarrassing.

00:27:24: That is why i'm anticipating And that will have to be embarrassing for her.

00:27:31: But it seems like the narrative of this story and how she was made...I hope She'll come from people who just absolutely were willing Her existence into this world.

00:27:44: you know, it worked and thank God she's just the best.

00:27:47: I think...I think she'll be fine when i think- She won't have questions because she knows that everybody involved!

00:27:53: She knows where she comes from, she knows everyone wanted so badly And a lot of kids don't have that.

00:28:01: They end up alright.

00:28:01: most men they're all right and mine does.

00:28:04: I think actually she's just going to be the most well-adjusted, boring child in the world which is actually great.

00:28:10: Eventually yeah... She has a hundred percent gonna end up being an accountant.

00:28:12: no comedy for her!

00:28:13: She'll be like i'm very well adjusted and don't need the approval of strangers from signing on this stage.

00:28:18: that what's gonna happen?

00:28:19: That's what I predict for my child.

00:28:21: all of my queer friends who've got kids.

00:28:23: um so i'll take you back to my my sister-in-law who's done exactly this twice now maybe for a third.

00:28:29: The Kids are the Most Well Adjusted Kids Emotionally adjusted kids and well cared for kids.

00:28:36: And I always think like straight people, only have to kind of fucking touch each other in a sexy way... ...and someone gets pregnant out the blue.

00:28:44: Oh we'll keep it!

00:28:46: Why?

00:28:47: The seriousness is that decision.

00:28:49: yet queer people have to put in emotionally financially... To get to being parents.

00:28:59: you're already loved more than... A lot of people who just went, oh shit pregnant again.

00:29:06: I think we're really lucky that... We all went therapy together before we did any of this.

00:29:12: Really a group therapy session?

00:29:15: Yeah!

00:29:15: And I guess it was therapists cancelling us to be like are you on board with these?

00:29:19: and they might end up feeling like this or something.

00:29:24: but our arrangement works perfectly for all of us.

00:29:28: But we have good communicators because you know, hashtag world snowflakes.

00:29:34: We talk about things with each other all the time so any questions or anything comes up we can have those discussions.

00:29:40: just nothing has!

00:29:48: So it's always a benefit I would say.

00:29:57: Uh,

00:30:00: five more kids?

00:30:02: No.

00:30:02: Thank you!

00:30:02: Do we want

00:30:04: another kid?

00:30:05: Another two kids?

00:30:07: One more in a long time and I certainly will not be carrying that child.

00:30:12: Let me tell ya That is the agreement

00:30:17: That

00:30:18: that's gone now.

00:30:19: Thank you, I know.

00:30:20: thanks a week You know but who knows maybe we'll adopt?

00:30:22: There are lots of options and actually we've realised it.

00:30:24: We're really cool great parents And so how ever will be fine?

00:30:29: the first one is like oh my god what if i don't do this?

00:30:31: and then there It's actually fine The kids gonna be fine.

00:30:36: What next?

00:30:36: Oh martin musical right in the big fat musical.

00:30:39: Tell us about

00:30:41: before we wrap up.

00:30:42: I can't say too much because it's in early days.

00:30:45: I love when people say to much, that is what i'm here

00:30:47: for.

00:30:49: It's a new musical that im writing about.

00:30:55: A woman run removals company and thats whats its about.

00:31:00: Its called Boxes Is the working title.

00:31:02: I think thats where should end What Im saying.

00:31:04: but im very excited.

00:31:05: Thats my next big project.

00:31:05: Any songs on the?

00:31:06: can anything come to you in the show?

00:31:10: That's exactly what you've got.

00:31:13: You've leaked the song that was after there, yeah no I'm really excited about it.

00:31:18: and thats my next big thing.

00:31:19: but i have other bits of mobs that are small and discreet.

00:31:22: so im afraid.

00:31:24: Okay we

00:31:26: would have to kill us.

00:31:27: Im just... I wouldn't do that to you?

00:31:28: No way!

00:31:31: Oh thank you thats very thoughtful.

00:31:32: Not knowing your dog person

00:31:34: I'm a dog person doesn't wear the masks.

00:31:37: That's really interesting as well.

00:31:43: Thanks for chatting

00:31:45: with me, thanks for having me.
